Cleaning a Porcupine part 1| "Removing the Hair"
This segment will be a 1 of 3 part video about how to clean a porcupine There are many very old art forms that use porcupine quills and other parts of the animal. I personally do a style of Birch Bark quillwork that utilizes the quills and also the fur. In this video I will show you the process I take to cleaning a full porcupine starting with the hair. The hair is primarily used for making dance attire for the top of the head adorn for dancing during powwow. Hopefully this shows you a new aspect to old art forms and what is done to acquire such materials. ENJOY! and please share for more people to learn
