Insta360 Mic Air Motorcycle Test: Best Position for Engine Sound?

Can the Insta360 Mic Air improve the engine sound recording on my Honda NC750X? In this video I test five different audio setups to see whether moving the microphone around the bike makes a real difference to the recorded engine sound. The Insta360 X4 is a great camera, but when it is mounted on the bike, wind noise and road noise can easily dominate the internal microphone. So I took the Honda NC750X out around Cobo Bay in Guernsey and tested the same short loop with different microphone positions. The five tests were: 1. Insta360 X4 internal microphone as a baseline 2. Insta360 Mic Air in my jacket pocket 3. Insta360 Mic Air in the front compartment / frunk 4. Insta360 Mic Air in the top box 5. Insta360 Mic Air in the right pannier After listening back to the recordings, my preferred position was the top box. I expected the right pannier to work best because it is closer to the exhaust, but because the pannier was empty, the sound became a little echoey. For this test, the top box gave the best balance of engine sound and wind protection. This is not a laboratory test, just a real world motorcycle audio test on my Honda NC750X, using the gear I actually ride and film with. What do you think?
