Cirujano Espacial cuenta problemas REALES de astronautas
What happens to the human body when it leaves Earth? Is it possible to operate on an astronaut remotely? Would we make it to Mars alive? Today we speak with Pablo Paglialunga, a thoracic surgeon, medical doctor, and member of the International Space Surgery Consortium. Pablo has just completed the European Space Agency's (ESA) Space Physician Training Course in Cologne, a training program that has only been offered six times in history, and he tells us firsthand how the medicine of the future is preparing for lunar and Martian missions. We discuss robotic surgery, which originated at NASA in the 1990s and is now used in thousands of operating rooms; the first real-world surgical robotics experiment on the ISS (Space MIRA); the dreaded Space Motion Sickness; why astronauts return taller, with osteoporosis, anemia, and vision problems; the radiation limit already reached by Sunita Williams; and the enormous challenge of operating on someone en route to Mars. 00:00 Episode Preview 01:17 Welcome and Introduction of Pablo Paglialunga 03:27 From Thoracic Surgeon to Space Medicine 06:34 Robotic Surgery: From Da Vinci to Operating from China to Romania 14:29 Inside the European Space Agency: The Course in Cologne and the Luna Complex 23:50 Astronaut Selection: The Healthiest Person on the Planet 26:26 The Flight Surgeon and the Mystery of SpaceX's Crew-11 30:18 23,000 Candidates, Psychological Tests, and the British Para-Astronaut 38:56 Is Surgery Possible on the ISS Today?
