Fighting Banana Bacterial Wilt in Uganda

Banana Bacterial Wilt (BBW) is a disease devastating East African Highland Banana crops. In the case of BBW, a team of scientists at the National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO) in Uganda have developed a banana variety that, using biotechnology, is resistant to Bacterial Wilt, offering the best hope for combatting the disease.
