Taal Jhaptaal | Manch Pravesh | Kathak Performance by Sunisha Dasmunshy

Hello everyone! Taal Jhaptaal is the second piece I performed for my Manch Pravesh, which took place on 4 March 2023 at the National Library Building in Singapore. This taal follows a ten beat pattern and is one of the most popular taals in Indian classical music. All the compositions such as Aamad, Paran and Kavitt presented in this taal, are typical to the Jaipur Gharana of Kathak. They have been choreographed by my Guru, Guru Jyotika Joshi. I had been blessed with the opportunity to perform with live music, alongside renowned artistes and Gurus currently teaching at the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society (SIFAS).
