The Best of Both Worlds

Also - this was recorded prior to the Echoes of Wisdom announcement! Zelda Tears of the Kingdom showed how open a game could be. Skyward Sword and Ocarina of Time showed how linear experiences could work. But are these two styles forever going to be opposed? Is it possible to imagine a game that is both open and linear?
