In a classic case of “Will they, won’t they?” a newbie to NYC finds himself in a whirlwind of emotion, desire, and passionately dangerous conflict as his new best friend takes him under his wing. Tensions rise as the two discover their feelings may put them at risk of not having them in each others’ lives at all. Are they meant to be there for one another forever? Or will they ruin it all trying to make it work. Special shout out to the one and only ‪@zolita‬ blessing this passion project and giving us permission to use her song. Back in 2022 when I first heard the song, it instantly went #1 in my household but I could never have expected it to resonate so much with me that years later I’d write a short film around it. Also credit to the brilliant, heart aching poem by ‪@HayleyGracePoetry‬ When I heard the poem a few months ago, I stopped in my tracks as it transported me back to all of the times in my life I have felt so deeply connected with someone but yet, they’d never cross the line for me. I listened to it over and over like it was therapy for me. I knew it was the perfect pairing to go with the music in Ruin My Life.
