What is a Lift Station for Waste Water and it's Function

A sewer lift station is an underground pumping facility that moves wastewater from a lower to a higher elevation. It is used in sewer systems when gravity flow is no longer possible—such as in flat terrain or when a property is below the main sewer line—preventing sewage backups.
