Near Side Arm Isolation from Side Control #jiujitsu #sidecontrol #grappling
Side Mount is a very controlling, strong position, but also one that could easily be lost in a heart beat. Why? Because our opponent usually has frames in place by the time we get to the side mount. Usually we find ourselves in this position after a guard pass or a takedown (more rarely). Naturally, by the time we pass their guard, our opponent (if experienced) already has both arms in place, as well as the near side knee waiting to be inserted in our hip pocket and initiate an escape. Therefore, our primary concern should always be to consolidate the control by first creating distance between their knee and elbow and only then begin isolation and attack on upper body. In this video we look how to do exactly that. Please Like and Subscribe! Thanks for watching!
