Then, with a close focus on four or five particular paintings, the lecture will explore Ruskin’s distinctive genius in evocative word- painting as he celebrates and critiques Turner and the Pre-Raphaelites. This lecture was recorded by Helen Czerski on the 4th Feb 2019 Malcolm Andrews is Professor (Emeritus) of Victorian and Visual Studies, University of Kent. He was the Editor of The Dickensian, the journal of the Dickens Fellowship, and a past President of the Dickens Society of America.
