Is your Atari 2600 controller not working? Pac-Man not moving or Pitfall Harry not jumping? It might just need a good cleaning and some new dome switches. In this video, you'll learn how to do an Atari 2600 controller repair through a complete teardown, cleaning, dome switch replacement, and rebuild. Two good notes about this video: My friend Jesse over at Ivory Tower Collections mentioned he uses a product sold at Walmart called De-Solv-It to remove that adhesive. He said it does a great job and those old chunks of tape can slide right off if the De-Solv-It is left to penetrate under it. Second, around the 10:40 mark, you'll see a white tab on the joystick tab oriented in two different directions when it's reinstalled into the top shell. Although it was an editing goof, that tab can indeed be installed either direction as there is a groove on both sides to accept the tab into the top shell.
