Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Stewart Stern joins Upon Reflection host Marcia Alvar in this 1993 interview from the University of Washington. At the time, Stern was working with University of Washington students in a screenwriting certificate program. Known for screenwriting "Rebel Without a Cause," "The Ugly American" and other major films, Stern reminisces about the Hollywood that was and will never be again. He offers insight into changing attitudes and methods of film production, and personal memories of Adolph Zukor, James Dean and Paul Newman.
