The One Desire That Will End Your Rebirth Forever, Zen Yoga Introduction - Part 3 What is the difference between VĀSANĀ and vāsanās, and why does it determine your next birth? In this video, we explore one of the most profound and least understood concepts in Vedanta and Zen Yoga: The nature of Vāsanā, and how it governs not just this life, but the entire cycle of birth, death, and rebirth. Throughout a person’s life, countless desires arise. Small ones. Deep ones. Fulfilled and unfulfilled. Each one leaves an impression, a vāsanā, etched into the fabric of the mind. But at the moment of death, something extraordinary happens. All those scattered desires, every longing, every attachment, every unresolved wanting, consolidate into a single force. A single VĀSANĀ. And this singular impression carries within it not just the weight of this lifetime, but the accumulated imprints of all past lives combined. That single VĀSANĀ becomes the seed of the causal body. And from the causal body, the physical form manifests once again. This is the mechanics of rebirth. But the video goes further. Because if Vāsanās are the chain that binds us to the cycle, they are also the key to liberation. When a person completely cleanses their vāsanās, when every desire, every impression, every latent wanting is dissolved, there is no seed left. No seed means no causal body. No causal body means no physical manifestation. No physical manifestation means the cycle ends. Complete liberation. Moksha. Freedom from the wheel of birth and death entirely. This is not metaphor. This is the precise mechanics of how consciousness frees itself. To reach this, one must consciously cleanse and replace their vāsanās through life.
