How To Make Any Flavor of Cotton Candy

Everyone loves cotton candy. But usually the flavors are limited to just a few basic commercially prepared flavors, like vanilla, blue raspberry, red cherry. But it is easy to make virtually any flavor you might like using just two ingredients -- sugar and flavoring. Most grocery stores carry a wide variety of flavors, like almond, anise (licorice), banana, coconut, coffee, hazelnut, lemon (featured in the video), maple, orange, peppermint, rum, strawberry, vanilla, and many others. Standard sugar is used in this video, but "demerara sugar," "cinnamon sugar" or "coconut sugar" can also be used. In fact, "demerara sugar" can be used a distinct flavor on its own, without adding any flavorings. Brown sugars, pure cane sugars, and other types of specialty sugars can also be used.
