Naked Raku in Five Minutes
#nakedraku #raku #pottery #kilnfiring My experience of the Naked Raku process using Ashraf Hanna clay. Naked Raku is a process of super heating clay forms that have been finely polished and covered in slip. Once they have been heated they have organic materials poured over them (in this case oak chips) and then get quenched with water. Often this is done by plunging them into water which, can have negative explosive consequences. We poured the water over them using watering cans. This then reveals some fantasic patterning on the forms. I hope you enjoy the video we really enjoyed the process.
