New! This is a vintage David Hedison Interview famous for The Fly, Voyage to Bottom of Sea and James Bond movies! Born Albert David Hedison Jr, he then underwent further training at the Actor's Studio with the Lee Strasberg. When he made his acting debute he was billed as Al Hedison. He had the title role in The Fly (1958).He was Ed Malone in The Lost World (1960), and as Captain Lee Crane in Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1964) both were Irwin Allen productions Under contract to 20th Century Fox from 1958, Daivd Hedison's next starred in the Cold War spy series Five Fingers (1959) portraying the part of an American counterintelligence officer (the accompanying change of his stage moniker to 'David Hedison' came about at the insistence of NBC and Fox). In the 1960's he befriended Roger Moore while filming an episode of The Saint (1962) and this lead to his role as Felix Leiter in two James Bond films -- Live and Let Die (1973) and Licence to Kill (1989) Over the years David Hedison had guest appearances in The F.B.I. (1965), Cannon (1971), Ellery Queen (1975), Barnaby Jones (1973) and Murder, She Wrote (1984). In 2004, he joined the cast of the TV Daytime soap The Young and the Restless (1973) for about fifty episodes. Ultimately, he enjoyed acting on the stage in theatre and he felt most connected, He was a brilliant actor and a gentleman! Mark J. Gross od Celebrity Biograph wrote after his passing (July 18, 2019),:"I just read that actor David Hedison has passed away. R.I.P. My friend and partner/co-host Renee Grindlinger, and I had the utmost pleasure of making friends with David at that 1997 Chiller Con.
