Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi Announces "Energy City" Project Plan in Faw from Houston •••••••••• The Iraqi-American Chamber of Commerce hosted Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi at a joint economic dialogue forum held in Houston, Texas. The forum was attended by the Ministers of Oil and Electricity, a number of advisors, and a large gathering of representatives from American companies, businesspeople, investors, bankers, and representatives from investment, financing, and consulting firms. At the beginning of the session, the Prime Minister delivered a speech in which he affirmed the government's commitment to removing all obstacles to attracting investment. He also announced plans for the "Energy City" project on the waterfront of the Faw Peninsula in southern Iraq. This project includes oil refining and processing complexes, gas production and processing facilities, and power plants connected to strategic oil pipelines and the development corridor. His Excellency reiterated the government's commitment to launching a new era of Iraqi-American cooperation in the energy sector, emphasizing Iraq's need for partners, not contractors, while providing all necessary guarantees for a secure and supported investment environment. This environment should be accompanied by financial and banking reforms that facilitate business operations and increase job creation. For his part, Mr. David Phillips, President of the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce, welcomed Mr. Al-Zaidi's participation in the forum, affirming the desire of the Texas business community, the private sector in general, and major American companies from various sectors and states to invest and cooperate with Iraq.
