Inspired by the traditional French recipe, made with apples, this recipe created by our chef is quick, delicious, and has a special touch to make it even more flavorful. Come learn with us! ;). 👉 Caramelized Onion Tarte Tatin Recipe 👈 ❗ Ingredients for the Caramelized Onion Tarte Tatin pastry ❗ • 1 sheet of puff pastry cut to the size of the frying pan ✅ • 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter ✅ • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar (if you don't have it, you can use white sugar) ✅ • 9 to 11 red onions, halved (ideally, measure the frying pan you will be making the tart in and see how many onions fit) ✅ • 1 leek, white part only, well washed ✅ • Fresh thyme or other fresh herb of your choice ✅ • Salt and pepper ✅ • 300 ml of chicken broth (preferably homemade) ✅ • 1 teaspoon of balsamic vinegar ✅ 👉 How to Make Caramelized Onion Tarte Tatin 👈 Heat the butter in the skillet you will use for the tart. Once melted, sprinkle the sugar evenly and turn off the heat. Add the onions, cut side down, until the skillet is full. Add salt, pepper, and thyme. In any remaining spaces between the onions, insert pieces of leek of the same height as the onion. Without stirring, sauté over medium-high heat for 5 minutes. Give the skillet a light shake to loosen the onions. Add the balsamic vinegar and chicken broth and cook covered over very low heat for 25 minutes. Remove the lid from the skillet and increase the heat. Let it simmer until the broth is greatly reduced, becoming a concentrated syrup (be careful not to burn it). Turn off the heat. Place the puff pastry sheet over the skillet as a lid (after cutting, it should be kept in the refrigerator until ready to use). Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F). Cook for 10 minutes, until the puff pastry is golden brown and puffed up. Wait 10 minutes and turn the tart out onto a beautiful plate of your choice! Did you like it?
