We cover what "relative" mass means (everything compared to carbon-12, which is why there are no units), how to read relative atomic mass off the periodic table, and how to calculate relative molecular mass (or relative formula mass for ionic compounds) by adding the Aᵣ of every atom in the formula — worked through examples like H₂O, CO₂ and Ca(OH)₂.
