What is the role and the ideological and theological position of the Russian Orthodox Church in the war in Ukraine? Igor Mikeshin is a social and cultural anthropologist from the University of Helsinki studying Russian Christianity, its history, ideology, culture, and everydayness. In his talk he points out that many media reports on Russia, the war in Ukraine, and the Orthodox Church have a misleadingly superficial and simplified image of the matter.
