Rodeo (Garth Brooks) - Chris Eger's One Take Weekly @ Plum Tree Recording Studio

Please support our series and get exclusive/behind the scenes content at   / chrisegerband   Episode 154: Country music superstar, Garth Brooks, released his third studio album, Ropin' The Wind, in 1991 and it became his first to debut at #1. On August 12th of that year, the lead single, "Rodeo" hit the airwaves and peaked at #3. Written by Larry Bastian, and originally titled, "Miss Rodeo" the tune's lyric details a relationship, challenged by the man's passion for the competition and often fruitless effort involved with the rodeo life. With an unconventional instrumentation, omitting Country staples like pedal steel and fiddle, and including distorted guitar, Hammond organ and lead by a Wurlitzer electric piano, "Rodeo" simmers with a soulful, bluesy vibe and tasteful studio playing. OTW is engineered and mixed by Richard Williams @ Plum Tree Recording Studio. One Take Weekly aims to present a sneak peek inside a studio recording session, each track performed and filmed in one take - imperfections & all. No overdubs, NO AUTOTUNE, and no trick-photography! (Just good mixing...& my nearly inept video editing skills) What you see is what you hear - CE.
