Lost My Faith in Bible College: Christian Apologetics is a Joke | My Entire Deconstruction Timeline

How could a devout believer, who devoted her entire life to ministry, end up an atheist? Most people do not leave Christianity overnight. Deconstructing a religious belief system is a long and complicated process. In this video, I use a timeline to succinctly explain my own complex process of evaluating my religious beliefs. I also explain an important illustration often given in deconstruction groups: the shelf break. 🗒️Note: In regard to my introductory level explanation of Christian Apologetics: Many Christian apologists claim to engage the historical context of the individual books of the Bible, but they do not. They approach the text with the bias that everything inside of the text is objectively true. This ignores the biblical scholarship that suggests otherwise. (For example, apologists approach the book of Exodus as if Moses actually wrote it. The scholarly consensus is that Moses did not write it.) The real historical context includes things that happened outside of the scriptures. When those things contradict the biblical narrative, apologists tend to side with the Bible anyway. There is a very, very big difference between Christian apologetics and biblical scholarship. 📺Watch Next: God is NOT good. The Gospel is NOT free. I am just a mirror for them to look into. Our stories may look the same in some ways and different in others. My channel is simply a tool of reflection. ❤️‍🔥About Lana: I was raised in the Baptist church from birth. I gave my life to Christ, married a preacher man, and went to Bible college to commit myself to ministry. Along the way, I lost my faith, left the church, and eventually became an atheist. This channel serves as an advocacy project where I share my experiences in order to help others navigate the extremely difficult process of religious deconstruction. I'll be sharing ALL of my thoughts on my religious upbringing, losing my faith, and reconstructing a new life. #preacherswife #deconstruction #apologetics
