Hot Wire CNC Foam Hawker Hurricane - Part 1

#grbl #foamcutter #cnc This is Part 1 of the build of my Hawker Hurricane Model aeroplane. I've created an eBook on how to build your own CNC machine at https://rckeith.co.uk/downloads/ebook... so you can build one as well. Not as expensive as you think. Since this build, I've now redesigned my foam cutter to use a USB interface and have created a build series showing you how you can build your own for around $200. https://rckeith.co.uk/how-to-build-a-... My Radio Controlled Hawker Hurricane is made with a hot wire CNC machine using XPS foam. Using Profili2 Pro and DevFus Foam to generate the g-code used to drive Mach3 a The wing is made in two sections using the Clark-Y airfoil. I use this for most of my designs and the Hurricane does actually use this airfoil. It gave it a thick wing which didn't have the performance of a Spitfire but made it a great gun platform. This model is going to be the Hurricane IID or more commonly known as the tank buster. Used very effectively by the Desert Air Force in WW2 to stop Rommel's advances.
