This video is a compilation of fishing trip videos from January 2025. As the temperature has dropped, bait stealing has decreased, and there have been fewer hits and float strikes. It would be quite unsatisfying to make each video a separate one, so I've compiled three days' worth of fishing trips. This video was published around May. I was editing it in March. I'd like to go fishing in March, but time off and the weather haven't always lined up, so it feels like I've been fishing less. Through this fishing, I felt that the Toya float was the best way to make small doughnut fishing more enjoyable. With a super-long cast with the Toya float, you can see the doughnut bite on the float, so you can completely tell whether or not there's bait. This fishing method seems to be effective in fishing spots with a lot of pufferfish. This is because there are significantly fewer bait steals without any bites, and there are significantly fewer empty hooks being cast. I first encountered the Toya style about 10 years ago. I used to often catch black porgy and large sea bream using this method. However, Marukyu's feeding dumpling bait is quite difficult to use, and is too hard for cold weather fishing. It also has a narrow tolerance for water volume, making it very difficult to adjust the moisture content. I had a hard time throwing dumplings that tended to break apart. Also, Toya floats became difficult to obtain, so I stopped using them much. Last year, while researching mid-water float dumpling fishing, I realized that if I made the dumplings smaller, it would be applicable to a wider range of situations. Mid-water float dumpling fishing, which breaks in the water, was originally intended for catching winter seabream. By controlling the specific gravity of the dumpling material I normally use, I can now enjoy the Toya style all year round. From next time, I will be introducing Toya floats.
