Todos Los Tipos De MOSASAURIOS Explicados

In 1764, naturalists found an enormous skull in a limestone quarry in the Netherlands. They couldn't identify which animal it belonged to. It was Georges Cuvier who, in 1808, correctly identified it: a completely extinct giant marine reptile. It was the Mosasaurus—the lizard of the Meuse River. And Jurassic World depicted it at twice its actual size. Real mosasaurs are more fascinating than any Hollywood version. One of them had two rows of teeth—including an additional row in the roof of its mouth that physically prevented any prey from escaping. Another measured up to 17.5 meters—the longest marine reptile in history. One was so specialized in crushing shells that its teeth were perfectly spherical, without any sharp edges. And the most recently discovered, in 2022, actively preyed on other mosasaurs. In this video, TodoExplicado covers each mosasaur—what distinguishes them, how they hunted, and why each represents a different evolutionary solution to the same problem: dominating the Cretaceous ocean. 00:00 Mosasaurus 01:25 Tylosaurus 02:49 Prognathodon 04:02 Platecarpus 05:17 Globidens 06:38 Hainosaurus 07:59 Clidastes 09:20 Thalassotitan If you want to know everything about dinosaurs and the most extraordinary creatures in Earth's history, subscribe to TodoExplicado and leave a like. #Mosasaurus #Tylosaurus #TodoExplicado #MarineDinosaurs #Paleontology #LateCretaceous #MarineReptiles #JurassicWorld #ScienceInSpanish
