Watch as all six of our pied flycatcher chicks leave the nest, at Longshaw Estate in Derbyshire

We've been watching them since April, but our pied flycatchers have finally flown the nest. We wish this family of rare birds all the best, out in the big wide world, and we hope they have a successful trip to Africa in the autumn. In this video, you can see a compilation of the moments when each of the chicks made the decision to go. Longshaw Estate in Derbyshire's Peak District, UK, is a wonderful landscape of hills, ancient woodlands, and heather moorland and this nestbox is part of our work to support and encourage wildlife. Your donations help us to look after Longshaw and the wildlife that lives there, and to provide safe access for visitors. They also help support conservation work and monitoring activity such as bird ringing, and insect tracking, to monitor trends and feed into national data on populations.
