The steel is installed at the top and bottom. Number of Steel (Flat Direction) How many steel bars are needed for a 6m length if the spacing is 20cm? To find out, calculate this: 6m x 0.2m = 30 bars. Since they are installed at the top and bottom, there are 30 bars x 2 = 60 bars. How many meters is 1 bar? Let's look at the vertical distance, which is 3 meters. So, we already know the number of bars, and the length of each bar. So, the total required steel is 60 x 3 m = 180 m. Number of bars in the vertical direction (3 m long) The calculation steps are the same as for the horizontal direction: the number of bars installed is 3 m x 0.2 m = 15 bars, installed top and bottom, so there are 30 bars. Each bar is 3 m long. The length of each bar is 30 x 6 m = 180 m. So, the total steel requirement is 180 m + 180 m = 360 m.
