Table ronde I Piloter l'éducation inclusive : du chemin parcouru aux décisions à venir

On May 20, 2026, in Paris, the AUF's APPRENDRE program brought together researchers, education officials, institutional partners, and practitioners for a morning dedicated to gender-sensitive inclusive education. This meeting marked the launch of ten applied research projects deployed in seven countries to better understand and reduce inequalities in schools. In this discussion, Daouda Guèye (Senegal), Adams Daniel Oyono (Cameroon), and Sanga Juvenal Kaobo (Democratic Republic of Congo) shared the challenges faced by ministries when it comes to ensuring the long-term sustainability of inclusion. Training teachers, adapting teaching resources, improving data collection, mobilizing funding, changing perceptions, and better addressing the needs of students with disabilities: the discussions highlighted the realities that education systems encounter when they seek to make schools more inclusive. Through examples from Senegal, Cameroon, and the DRC, the speakers also discuss the strategies implemented to translate policy guidelines into concrete actions, from training educational staff to supporting schools.
