«Maese Pérez el organista»: una leyenda de Bécquer | ANÁLISIS
Among all of Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer's "Legends," "Master Pérez the Organist" stands out for its popularity and the formal perfection with which it is constructed. This short story combines the religious atmosphere of Seville's convents with a supernatural event of great poetic intensity: the soul of an organist who returns every Christmas Eve to play the organ in the Church of Santa Inés. The result is a piece in which the everyday and the supernatural coexist, the voice of the people and that of the artist, and which exemplifies better than any other Bécquer's ability to transform popular material into high art. Today we will examine this tale, which reveals the authentic narrative architecture employed by the Sevillian writer, in which each contrast lends rhythm and coherence to the legend. 🔴 SUBSCRIBE TO DEMIURGO 🔴 / demiurgoliteratura SOCIAL MEDIA 🔵 Twitter 🔵 / demiurgo_lit 🟠 Instagram 🟠 / demiurgo_lit --------------- Chapters: 00:00 Introduction 01:03 Bécquer as a Committed Writer 01:59 The Mold of Bécquer's Legends 03:24 The Structure of "Maese Pérez the Organist" 07:00 Music and Color in "Maese Pérez the Organist" 10:47 Conclusion 11:35 Credits ----------- RESOURCES (Copyright Disclaimer: Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair competition" or "fair market value" in the copyrighted work of copyright holders.)
