Artwork by Take Me Back Pirate Radio Archives. The London pirate radio station Rinse FM began transmitting in 1994 up and until 1996 on 97.6 then moved dial to 91.8FM in late 1996 until late 97. They were taken off air and decided to join forces with some of the former Pressure FM crew setting up on the old 100.4FM, then shifting the dial to 100.3FM and restyling it as Rinse FM. Rinse FM was home to some of the most talented DJs, MCs, artists and producers in London and the UK. The majority of its performers were from east London although it did have pockets of talents from all corners of the city. Rinse FM's talent was being recognised by the likes of the east London rival Kool FM 94.5, who poached Nicky Slim Ting, Maxwell D and the legendary DJ Trend (RIP), who was the producer of the Rinse FM anthem "Ohh Bass", "Anthem" and "2 Degrees" which captivated the ravers from the moment they heard them drop in the raves and on pirate radio.
