Ever wondered what it's like being a commercial fisherman? Here's some first-hand footage of the commercial salmon fishing industry in Southeast Alaska. A calm day near East Addington Bay, Noyes Island, Alaska. About 2 hrs. (via boat) from Craig, AK. Footage taken on F/V Lucky Star. August, 2018. Net rolls varied from 1,500 lbs. - 4,000 lbs. This is good fishing with a nice mix of all 5 species of salmon (10 names). Chum (dog), coho (silver), sockeye (red), pink (humpy), and king (chinook). Even some beautiful steelhead salmon (sea-run rainbow trout)! These bright fish on the coast are what people pay big money for in the restaurants. Nothin' quite like pulling a beautiful salmon out of the saltwater and into the boat galley oven; 30 mins. later you're savoring the delicious fish with a green salad. :)
