Porter Sculpture Park — Giant Iron Art on the Prairie

Out on the open prairie of eastern South Dakota, along a lonely stretch of Interstate 90, an enormous rust colored bull rears its head sixty feet into the sky, tall as the carved faces of Mount Rushmore, welded together from twenty five tons of heavy steel. Scattered in the grass around it stand dozens of strange and wonderful metal creatures, dragons and fish and towering figures rising out of the plains where you least expect them. It is one of the most surprising sights on the American road, a giant homemade dream forged from scrap iron. Welcome to Porter Sculpture Park. Filmed June 2025.
