NAMCO/SYSTEMA PACLAND LCD ELECTRONIC GAME 1984

This is the iconic arcade game Pac-land but released in a small handheld LCD game version in 1984. One of the most fondly remembered 80s arcade cabinets Pac-land had a number of conversions on home computers such as the ZX spectrum, and consoles like the megadrive. But was also released by Systema electronics as a handheld electronic game. It does a decent attempt at visualising a paired down version of the title. It contains the iconic music from the arcade game which in itself was amazing at the time of its release, and also has many of the graphical elements but in LCD form. Pacman, the ghosts, and elements of the game are present. But unlike the arcade this plays more like a version of Mario. The screen scrolls along and changes, and you can also collect power pills to collect the ghosts. The idea of the game being to jump along the platforms while avoiding the ghosts. So a sort of combination between Mario and the original Pac-man. Decals on the game unit are excellent, some of the best i have seen on an electronic game. and the sound is great.
