Abandoning an Ocean Rowboat on the Pacific: What Led Up To The Rescue
Roz Savage (http://www.rozsavage.com) became the first woman ever to row solo across the Pacific, a three-stage marathon that began in 2008 and ended triumphantly in 2010. There was, however, a major glitch during her first attempt in 2007 when her boat capsized 3 times in 24 hours. She had private med-evac insurance, but unfortunately matters were taken out of her hands when an unauthorised person called out the US Coast Guard. This video shows the events of August 23rd, 2007, that led Roz Savage, ocean rower, to reluctantly abandon her boat the Brocade en route from California to Hawaii.
