In Venezuela's history, there are indelible events, etched in the collective memory of survivors and the victims' families. The Orinoco tragedy, which claimed the lives of a large part of the Madera Group, plunged the entire country into mourning. The community of Barrio Marín, in San Agustín del Sur, was plunged into grief at the loss of young artists, who were traveling with the mission of sharing their art in the south of the country. Although 44 years have passed, the case remains unsolved. The victims' families still cry out for justice, as no one responsible has been identified and the State has not compensated either the survivors or the affected families.
