Starbucks Frappuccino Lite Gelato Review: Proper Sweet Treat or Sugar Overload? There you are! I’m back in the hat, and today I’ve found a proper curiosity from across the road at my local Safeway: Starbucks Bottled Frappuccino Lite (Sea Salt & Caramel Gelato Flavor). As a British expat living in the USA, I'm always on the hunt for a cold coffee with a bit of a kick that isn't just a liquid bag of sugar. While this one is marketed as "Lite" and sits at a lean 100 calories, don't let that fool you, it still packs 9 grams of sugar! The Breakdown: The Scent: Absolutely beautiful. As soon as you crack that cap, it smells heavily of authentic sea salt and caramel. The Taste: Bugger me, it is sweet! Even with just 9g of sugar, it has a serious punch of sweetness, but the flavor itself is bangin'. The "gelato" element definitely brings a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. The Value: Picked this up for $2.99, which is fair play for a premium Starbucks bottle. The Verdict: A solid 7 out of 10! The flavor profile is excellent, but because of the 9g of sugar, I can't give it an 11/10.
