Its name in Sardinian means "thief": this funny name comes from the fact that the beach was once populated by monk seals, who used to steal the fishermen's fresh catch. This gem of a beach is located just north of Cala Goloritze and is decorated with small, rounded pebbles smoothed by the constant movement of the water. The pebbles, called ispuligi de nie, or snowflakes, by the Sardinians, make this beach truly unique. Cala Mariolu is ideal for scuba diving and is one of Sardinia's best beaches for snorkeling, as the clear, emerald-green waters allow you to clearly see the seabed, even with just a mask and snorkel. The rocky seabed is shallow, making it ideal for snorkeling enthusiasts and ideal for those traveling with children.
