A Handmade Tale - An Interview with the Pioneer of Tatreez (Palestinian Embroidery)
Meet Maha Saca, Director of the Palestinian Heritage Center located in Bethlehem. Maha is a very special woman we met on our first days in Bethlehem. In this impromptu interview, Maha gives us intimate access into her life, why she is so passionate about preserving the traditional styles of dress and ensuring that future generations keep their heritage alive. Maha played a pivotal role in adding Palestinian style dress and embroidery to the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List in 2021. A crowning achievement that increases awareness of Palestinian culture around the world, and accountability for cultural appropriation. #palestine #trending #embroidery #cultural #unesco_world_heritage_site #unesco
