Known for his roles in the NHK Taiga drama "Golden Days" and the film "Kagemusha," Jinpachi Nezu retired from acting in 2010 due to illness. He discovered the joy of acting after performing a two-person play he wrote himself at a high school cultural festival. After graduating from high school, he dropped out of Dokkyo University after two years and in 1969, he joined the Situation Theater, led by Juro Kara. The following year, in 1970, he made his long-awaited acting debut in the play "John Silver: Beggar of Love." In 1971, he received acclaim for his role as a ventriloquist in the play "Shojo Kamen." He continued to appear in a number of Situation Theater productions. Nezu Jinpachi's handsome looks eventually made him a symbol of the "Situation Theater."
