Tips and tricks for using the Bialetti Chicca
*VALUABLE ADDED INFO based on my experience and the comments:* 1. I realize that many people believe in NOT allowing moka pots to get to the gurgling phase, and if you choose to do that I advise you to remove the pot off your heat source and allow it to stop expelling coffee before moving the teapot off the base, otherwise you will literally have a scalding mess on your hands. (for the record, I've been using moka pots for years and all of them still work perfectly even when I let them gurgle a little so let's amicably call it a personal preference.) 2) Fastidious linguists among you, at the 00:09 mark I only realized after the fact that the font I chose does not accurately reflect IPA symbols. The correct IPA transciption is ['kik-ka]. 3) In case my suggestion about the grind size was vague, I don't mean coarse coarse - just coarser than espresso grind. Go with what you see here as a guide. ******** I've owned and used the Bialetti Chicca for several months now and learned its weaknesses. Now I'm demo-ing it to share how I get the best results! Please remember your mileage may vary, and individual machines and circumstances may make your experience different from mine. P.S. melted handles don't impact brewing function so I still use those poor pots...avoid user error and remember to turn off your stove if you don't want melted handles! You live and you learn...
