Snare Drum Tuning and Head Changes with calf and plastic
Here is a video all about tuning snare drums. I show you batter head changes and tuning for 3 different Ludwig drums. I demonstrate how I tune quickly and efficiently with both plastic and calf heads. All of the drums have diplomat snare (bottom) heads. The drums are: 14" x 5" Ludwig Wood Orchestral Snare 10 Lugs. Bottom head tuned to A 14" x 6.5" Ludwig 1920's NOB "Special" 10 Lugs. Bottom head tuned to G 14 x 5.5" Ludwig 1970's Supraphonic 10 Lugs. Bottom head tuned to A Time Stamps 0:00 14" x 5" Ludwig Wood Orchestral Snare w/Remo Diplomat Head Bottom Head tuned to "A" 10:22 14" x 6.5" Ludwig 1920's NOB "Special" w/ Calf Head Bottom Head Tuned to "G" 19:10 14 x 5.5" Ludwig 1970's Supraphonic w/ Remo Emperor Head Bottom Head Tuned to "A" The sticks I am using are 72 gram Yellowheart Concert Sticks which I make.
