Digimax - Harmonic Sequence

Digimax - Harmonic Sequence | Spacesynth 2012 I made this track at the beginning of 2012. Once again, I was chasing that classic Laserdance sound. This one turned out to be trickier than expected. At the time, and still to this day, I didn’t really know anything about music theory. While working on the track, I came up with several melodies I liked, but when it came time to arrange them and connect everything back to the opening ideas, something just wasn’t clicking. I couldn’t figure out why; I only knew it didn’t sound right. I kept writing more melodies, hoping to find a natural point where the track could loop back into the first section. That’s how the arrangement ended up the way it did. It feels like there are five or six melodies that play through and then repeat, almost like a verse, pre-chorus, chorus, and then a second pass through that structure. I just couldn’t find my way back to the "verse,” so I kept creating new parts until something finally connected. It was incredibly frustrating, and it made me seriously consider studying music theory. But honestly, I find it so boring that, with my ADD, it has always felt nearly impossible to stick with it. So that’s why the track became so long: too many melodies, arranged in two big sequences. That’s also why I called it “Harmonic Sequence”—because to me, it feels like a sequence of melodies repeated twice. I hope you enjoy it. #spacesynth #italodisco #laserdance #digimax #harmonicsequence
