Ruta fácil a 💚ELS AVENCS de LA FEBRÓ💚 (Tarragona)
The Avencs de la Febró are a series of deep galleries caused by a fault in the Prades Mountains. They run parallel along a cliff, located near the Mussara refuge. It's difficult to find the ideal point to descend. At the point where the path meets the fault, a chain-equipped equipment line appears. This is the classic point from which we will descend. Among the rocky blocks, you can descend 100 meters further down without much difficulty. This point is marked by a stone cairn and the PR mark crossed out on a tree. When visiting the Avencs de la Febró, it's important to be aware that your clothing will get muddy. It's also worth keeping in mind that the temperature is somewhat lower than outside, since due to the narrowness of the chasm, the sun only shines in for one hour a day. It's a good idea to wear a headlamp if you want to explore. It's important to remember that, while not a dangerous hike, it does require some caution. Be careful when you begin the descent. It's not dangerous, but you should progress slowly, being careful not to slip. Little by little, we descend the three levels to reach the bottom of the crevasse. At its lowest point, the chasm is 30 meters deep and 8 meters wide at its widest. The cavity is approximately 300 meters long, leaving the entrance to Cova Gran, also known as the "Grotto of Silence," on our left. Along the entire gap, other smaller cavities and the occasional chasm open up. A little further on from Cova Gran, the chasm turns slightly to the left, revealing a rock wall with a large root running from top to bottom. At that point, to the right, there's a crevice that seems to lead nowhere, but which leads to the other two chasms, with their corresponding caves. To exit, take the reverse route to explore Cova Gran. It's possible to enter carefully if you have headlamps, as the rocks are quite slippery and the ground is unstable. In the main chamber, there is a large stalagmite. From the main chamber, you can continue exploring the cave, but you'll have to crawl in some places. You can go around the phallic stalagmite, discovering the two small columns, until you reach the area where the cave narrows and appears to connect with another chamber. We return to the main chamber and from there to the cave exit. To ascend, you have to pass under the stuck rock. The climb is obviously easier.
