Assírios - A Origem e O Reino Antigo

#Assyrians #Mesopotamia #History Greetings, everyone! In this initial study of the Assyrians, we will explore the very beginning of their obscure origins (few sources) as a people formed by shepherds who lived in tents until the conquest of Assur, the main Assyrian city, which was built by them around 1900 BC, or, following the Judeo-Christian tradition, in the third millennium BC, by Assur, who was the son of Shem and grandson of Noah. We will learn about the period of the Old Kingdom, which dates from the era of the Kings who lived in tents, where the Assyrians focused more on trade with the commercial center of Canexe, which brought much prosperity to Assur and also to Anatolia with many raw materials. The peoples who competed with the Assyrians, such as the Hattians (not to be confused with the Hittites who conquered and assimilated them, forming the Hittite Empire), the Hurrians, and the Amorites, who became a great power, forming the first Babylonian Empire in the era of Hammurabi, which subjugated the Assyrians until his death in 1750 BC. This period was one of restructuring among the Assyrians, who became involved in internal power struggles until they shifted their system of government to more ambitious men who sought territorial conquests, paving the way for the Assyrian Empire or Middle Kingdom.
