The SECRET JESUS Revealed About FORGIVENESS Most people think FORGIVENESS is about the other person. About letting them off the hook. About pretending it didn’t hurt. But the SECRET JESUS revealed about FORGIVENESS goes much deeper than that. When PETER asked how many times he should forgive, in Matthew Chapter 18 verse 21 to 22, JESUS answered in a way that shocked everyone. Not seven times — but seventy-seven times. He wasn’t giving a number. He was revealing a principle: FORGIVENESS is not occasional. It is a posture of the heart. The SECRET is this: FORGIVENESS is freedom for you before it is release for them. JESUS understood something about the human soul. When you hold resentment, you relive the wound. When you rehearse the offense, you stay emotionally tied to the pain. Bitterness becomes a prison built from memory. But when you FORGIVE, you break that chain. On the cross, in Luke Chapter 23 verse 34, JESUS said, “Father, forgive them.” They had not repented yet. They had not apologized. They had not changed. And yet He forgave. That reveals another part of the SECRET: FORGIVENESS is not dependent on their response. It is rooted in your obedience. It does not mean what happened was acceptable. It does not mean there are no boundaries. It means you refuse to let hatred shape your future. Many people wait until they “feel ready” to forgive. But feelings often follow decisions. When you choose FORGIVENESS, your heart gradually aligns with that choice. Another hidden truth is this: the way you receive forgiveness from GOD affects how you extend it. When you deeply understand the mercy you have received, extending mercy becomes possible. FORGIVENESS does not erase justice. It releases vengeance. It places the outcome back into GOD’s hands.
