Join The Floating Nomads as we continue our narrowboat journey along the beautiful Shropshire Union Canal — one of the most scenic and dramatic waterways in the UK. This week’s vlog starts in Adderley, where we begin cruising south on the Shropshire Union Canal. We stop in Market Drayton to stock up on supplies before taking on the Tyrley Locks — a flight of five picturesque but sometimes challenging locks surrounded by woodland. Then comes the highlight of the journey: the breathtaking Woodseaves Cutting. This one-mile stretch of canal was cut through solid rock, creating a dramatic gorge that feels like something out of Middle-earth. Towering cliffs, wild greenery, and complete stillness make it one of the most unforgettable places on the UK canal system. We face off with a few swarms of horseflies (classic canal life!), but escape unharmed and end the day moored up at one of the most stunning and peaceful spots we’ve ever found.
