(20/4/2018) Go-Ahead London 142 Dennis Dart SLF Marshall LT02ZDR - Route 193 - Romford to Hornchurch

LT02ZDR is a Dennis Dart SLF 8.9m with Marshall Capital bodywork. It was new to First CentreWest as DMS462 in 2002. It was then sold to Metrobus in 2007, and later transferred to London General in 2014. It is the only ex-Metrobus Marshall-bodied Dart still in TfL service. Together with the DMN-class, these Darts are almost exclusively allocated to route 193 between Romford Queens Hospital and County Park Estate. Marshall Capital bodywork is a rarity in London now, with just over a dozen of such bodied Dart SLFs (DMN-class and 142) in Go-Ahead London's fleet. They are "endangered" because the tender of route 193 has been awarded to Stagecoach London, effective from 29 Sept this year. The chance of hearing the distinctive whine from Allison AT545 gearbox on old Darts is becoming even lower. I like their "peaked dome" front route box design, but the windscreen is a bit out of proportion. I always think the predecessor of Capital, i.e. the C37 body derived from Duple/Carlyle Dartline, is the best looking body ever fitted onto a Dart, like CMB's CX-class. Thank you for watching!
