But his example shows that a great player doesn't always equal a top coach. Yes, Henry recently came close to success at the Olympics with the French youth team. However, he failed at the senior level. In the fall of 2018, Thierry was called up by Monaco, which had stalled at the start of the season. Henry was expected to invigorate the team, but the opposite happened. The Frenchman lashed out at his players, demanding the same level of quality on the pitch that he had shown as a player. But Monaco had almost no players of that caliber. Ultimately, Henry ruined the atmosphere within the team, posted a terrible result (5 wins in 20 matches), and was sacked three months later.
