The book of James is comprised of short, punchy, and practical teachings that are in response to problems within the larger community James is writing. In Chapter 3, James addresses the destructive nature of our words. He understands that words have the power of life and death, and too often, people lack the maturity to use their words in a consistent and controlled way.
