As a sustainable artist/designer, upcycling is just a natural part of my creative process. It’s kind of how my brain is wired, to look at a garment and see possibilities. Recently I volunteered at and participated in a clothing swap with Spokane Zero Waste, and walked away with some amazing pieces with so much potential. For this swap, folks were allowed to bring 5 good-condition, clean items to trade. As a volunteer I waited until the racks had been picked through and I still ended up with some gems!
